Hi, this is Michael at Inner Peace and I hope you are happy, healthy and enjoying life to the fullest.
Tell me, have you ever stopped to consider what motivates you to do things in life?
That inner driver that compels you to do things, to achieve extraordinary results?
Last week Marlyse, her mum and I went to a restaurant high in the Swiss mountains. We travelled in comfort on a train track that was completed in 1895.
It wound around tight curves, up steep inclines and through long tunnels all the way up to 2042 meters. That alone was a great engineering feat but what happened at the top was puzzling to say the least…
In 1975 they dug a tunnel through solid rock from the railway station over 250 meters to the other side of the mountain top. Just to build a restaurant with a view!
Leaving the cost aside, what would motivate someone to do such a thing? The thousands of tons of rock that had to be bored, blasted and carried away!
It led me to think about the times in my life when I’ve done extraordinary things and the times when I’ve been too ‘down’ to do anything!
As mentioned in my last post, I believe our early conditioning, to a large extent, determines our life course.
For example if as a child you were continually put down as not being good enough, you either gave up trying or you took on an ‘I’ll show you’ attitude.
Or maybe you gave the all too common ‘big bird’ or ‘f*!# you’ attitude. How many times these days do you hear teenagers say ‘yeah, whatever’?
Maybe you even experienced humiliation as a way of manipulating you to conform to your parents particular set of values. Guilt and shame are other commonly used strategies.
The sad part about it is that unless and until you decide to start doing something to reverse many of your unconscious beliefs, your life will be driven by them.
And only you can make that decision. The good part about making that decision though is opportunities will start ‘showing up’ to help you along the way.
One of those opportunities is In-Tuition & Freedom. Are you ready to jump in to find out what life can really be about?
Until next time, may you enjoy the very best life has to offer.
