‘Ego State Therapy’

Understanding the Voices Within

Thursday 2nd September, 7:30 to 9pm

How to create inner harmony around
any subject in about 60 minutes

Have you ever wondered whether it’s ‘normal’ to hear different voices in your head? To experience an on-going internal dialogue between various facets of your personality?

Well, hearing different inner voices isn’t unusual and it isn’t pathological. We all do it most of the time, whether we’re aware of it or not. After all, our personality isn’t a unified field! It’s made up of numerous ‘ego-states’ – parts of the psyche that have different desires, memories, fears and ways of expressing themselves.

That’s why experiencing some inner conflict is also perfectly natural. Resolving them is how we grow and evolve. But what happens when we don’t reconcile our various points of view?

Here’s another way to ask this question…

Have you noticed that problems arise
in your life when conflicting ego-states
cannot agree on an outcome?

Here’s a practical example:

The ego-state that emphatically states one night, “Enough is enough. I’ll start looking for a new job tomorrow”, isn’t the same one that says in the morning, “Yes, my job is terribly stressful and I hate it, but I won’t quit. Anything is better than the unknown, that’s for sure.”

To which a third voice might add something hurtful, such as “You’re such a loser… Only an idiot would put up with these dreadful conditions.”

How about a fourth ego-state, the victim? This one is pretty universal and usually also has something to say. “Oh! poor me...

Why do I always attract people who take advantage of me?…”

Such a tug of war is painful – as we all know. It leads to doubts, uncertainty, stagnation, paralysis, increasingly frequent self-deprecating comments and/or self-sabotage.

Whatever the area of life, we need to resolve our internal conflicts in order to achieve happiness and fulfilment. When ignored or poorly handled, such conflicts can lead to physical illness or depression.

This is where ego-state therapy
is extremely helpful.

Under the guidance of a skilled practitioner, the person in trouble can consciously access their conflicting ego-states and reach a harmonious resolution. In most cases, one session is enough and positive results are immediately noticeable.

Marlyse Carroll is a well practiced Ego State Therapist, and is sharing her knowledge and expertise in this evening session.

All areas of life can be helped by ego-state therapy

  • Addictive behaviours, such as smoking, gambling, over-eating, etc.

  • Relationships

  • Self-worth & assertiveness

  • Finances

  • Health

  • Work

  • Parenting

  • Body-image, etc.

If you’re a parent, imagine how useful
it could be to your children.

It’s a fantastic way for children to let go of limiting beliefs and to grow painlessly. To change past conditioning for the better. And what better time to learn about self-empowerment than early in life!

Imagine that you could ‘talk’ with various parts
of your body and make healthy agreements

Yes, ego-state therapy is such a wonderfully effective tool that you can use it on yourself as well.

We’re referring here to the possibility of altering the course of an illness, or avoiding one. At INNER PEACE, we’re well aware that, from a strictly rational/medical perspective, it might sound impossible to influence cells’ behaviour… Yet in our experience it does work.

Let me explain some of the health benefits of ego-state therapy.

Imagine that one of your organs was giving you some grief. Chances are there’s a psychological reason behind it - a deeply unconscious ego-state that can increase your susceptibility to germs, activate your DNA in unwanted ways and even trigger ‘bad luck events’.

Would you like to be able to consciously change your situation by having a ‘conversation’ with that particular ego-state (and/or organ)? How about reaching a win/win agreement about your health and wellbeing? Reversing the progression of a disease?

Yes, as already mentioned, it’s entirely possible once you know how to go about it. In some cases you can do it yourself, in other cases you’ll benefit from an external facilitator.
